The Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Prevention and Recovery (HECAOD) welcomed local students, faculty, campus administrators, business partners and members of the media on Monday, April 6th for its official Ribbon-Joining Ceremony!
The ceremony featured an expert panel that provided insight on the issue of collegiate substance misuse from HECAOD staff, student voices, and the business community.
The Ohio State University President Dr. Michael V. Drake was also in attendance to show his support for this exciting, new collaborative national effort. “While many new endeavors kick off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, our prevention and recovery center will feature a ribbon-joining ceremony to visually illustrate how these areas tie together to the benefit of students across the nation,” said Drake. “The center will be a crucial resource in preventing and controlling substance misuse, which can easily derail the promising lives of our students.”
Thank you so much to everyone who came to the event to show their support. We are especially grateful to the Center’s founding partners- the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation and The Ohio State University’s College of Social Work, College of Pharmacy and Office of Student Life.
