Session Description

Following the presentation on cannabis use and suicidality among Missouri college students, this roundtable discussion session invites participants to engage in deeper exploration of the findings from the 2024 Missouri Assessment of College Health Behaviors (MACHB). Focusing on diverse gender and sexual identities, this session will encourage attendees to collaboratively examine the associations between cannabis use and mental health concerns, particularly suicidality, in marginalized student populations. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss prevention and intervention strategies tailored to these concerns, and share ideas for supporting students both on and off campus. This interactive discussion aims to equip participants with practical insights and actionable steps for enhancing mental health and substance use prevention efforts in higher education settings.
