College campuses are increasingly recognizing that student recovery extends beyond substance use disorders. Students may also be navigating challenges related to gambling, disordered eating, nicotine dependence, and other process or behavioral addictions, often alongside co-occurring mental health concerns. This multidisciplinary panel brings together professionals from collegiate recovery, gambling prevention and treatment, eating disorder services, and nicotine cessation to explore the common challenges, risk factors, and support needs that cut across recovery experiences. Participants will examine opportunities to create more inclusive, recovery-supportive campus environments and strengthen collaboration among campus and community partners to better serve students in recovery.

Learning Objectives:

  • Examine the connections between substance use recovery and process addictions within higher education settings.
  • Identify shared risk factors, recovery challenges, and co-occurring concerns that may affect students across addiction types.
  • Describe strategies campus professionals can use to foster inclusive and recovery-supportive environments for students with diverse recovery needs.
  • Explore opportunities for collaboration across departments and disciplines to strengthen recovery support systems on campus.
