“The Higher Education Center is my go-to resouce for professional development. Their webinars are always engaging and the weekly UReport email keeps me current on the lastest news and published research. The University of Virginia’s Gordie Center is proud to be an educational partner of the Higher Education Center.”

Susie Bruce, The Gordie Center, University of Virginia

“Our membership to HECAOD has been an important resource over the years.  The learning collaboratives are very helpful in staying up to date on current trends and best practices in college substance misuse prevention.  We’ve also had great success using the Screen U tool in a variety of settings across campus, including with our Fraternity and Sorority Life chapters.  The pricing structure also makes it a great value and the staff are super helpful!”

Melissa Griffin, Northern Arizona University

“Our engagement with HECAOD has been beneficial to our AOD work in several ways.  The Learning Collaboratives have provided us with valuable professional development sessions as well as connections with professionals across the country doing similar work.  ScreenU allows us to provide our students with anonymous, online screening tools that are aligned with our motivational interviewing practices.  And the weekly UReport keeps us informed on the latest resources, information and research in the field of AOD prevention in higher education.”

Kathy Wagner, Princeton University

ScreenU®:
ScreenU is a web-based screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment (SBIRT) program that helps students identify their risk of experiencing harms from their substance use and connects them with both strategies to reduce their risk and resources local to their campus and community that can support behavior change. SBIRT has been shown to reduce the quantity and frequency of substance misuse and the likelihood students will experience negative consequences that may impact their ability to be successful.

There are three ScreenU programs available – ScreenU Alcohol, ScreenU Cannabis, & ScreenU Rx. Campus memberships have access to all three programs. ScreenU memberships can select one program of their choice.

Technical assistance is available to members using ScreenU through targeted online and telephone support that will help your organization get ScreenU up and running.
