The goal of this presentation is to underscore the importance of including a communication strategy as part of an overall alcohol and drug prevention strategy. Participants should leave the presentation with a better understanding of what makes an effective communication strategy, as well as a “communication toolbox” of easy-to-use resources for planning a communication strategy relevant to their institution’s population, goals, and programs. This presentation aims to help participants feel empowered to include communication as part of their prevention strategy—no matter how large or small their team is, and no matter their previous experience with communications.
