ScreenU is a web-based program that digitizes screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment (SBIRT) to allow for its use beyond clinical settings. It is currently available in three versions: ScreenU Alcohol, ScreenU Cannabis, and ScreenU Rx. These online tools can identify students making high-risk alcohol and drug choices, provide strategies to reduce their risk of negative consequences, and connect them with resources local to your campus and community.

ScreenU Alcohol
ScreenU Alcohol can help students quickly identify if they are experiencing negative consequences because of their alcohol use. It uses the World Health Organization’s Alcohol Use Disorder Identification Test (AUDIT) as its screening tool. Based on their responses, students will receive positive reinforcement or non-judgmental feedback encouraging them to think about the choices that may be putting them at risk for harmful consequences. ScreenU Alcohol will also provide ways for reducing harms from alcohol use and, if necessary, refer participants to campus and community resources.
ScreenU Cannabis
ScreenU Cannabis can help students quickly identify if they are experiencing negative consequences because of their cannabis use. It is based on the Cannabis Use Disorder Identification Test Revised (CUDIT-R) and contains additional questions and feedback based on whether there is co-use with alcohol, academic or financial consequences, or use while engaging in mobility activities. Based on their responses, students will receive positive reinforcement or non-judgmental feedback encouraging them to think about the choices that may be putting them at risk for harmful consequences. ScreenU Cannabis will also provide ways for reducing harms from cannabis use and, if necessary, refer participants to campus and community resources.
ScreenU Rx
ScreenU Rx can help students quickly identify if they are experiencing negative consequences because of their misuse of prescription medications. Developed by the Higher Education Center, ScreenU Rx helps students identify if their medication taking behaviors are considered misuse. Based on their responses, students will receive positive reinforcement or non-judgmental feedback encouraging them to think about the choices that may be putting them at risk for harmful consequences. ScreenU Rx will also provide ways for reducing harms from prescription drug misuse and, if necessary, refer participants to campus and community resources.
ScreenU Demo Account
The ScreenU Demo Account provides access to the dashboard that campus administrators use to manage the ScreenU suite of tools. Create and deploy campaigns, manage resources, and view reports in one place. Explore a demo administrative dashboard and see how easy it is to implement ScreenU on your campus.
