Dr. Jim Lange

Dr. Jim Lange comes to the Higher Education Center from San Diego State University, where he remains the Coordinator of Alcohol and Other Drug Initiatives. His expertise in campus prevention efforts is based upon over 20 years at SDSU, and over 25 years of prolific funded research in the field of AOD prevention. He’s credited with over 70 peer-reviewed and scholarly publications, and over 180 conference and invited guest presentations. Dr. Lange has also spearheaded statewide and local coalitions and major prevention initiatives. He has served in leadership roles within the collegiate prevention field, including as the executive committee co-chair of The Network Addressing Collegiate Alcohol Other Drug Issues, and continues to serve on SAMHSA’s Prevention Technology Transfer Center Network, Advisory Board.

Cindy Clouner

Cindy Clouner has served as the Managing Director of the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Prevention and Recovery since 2017. She joined HECOAD in January of 2015 as a prevention specialist, providing support for Generation Rx and serving as the Program Manager for the Ohio College Initiative. Before transitioning to HECAOD, Cindy spent eight years coordinating school and community-based prevention in Ohio. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Bowling Green State University and her Master of Public Health from The Ohio State University. She is a licensed social worker and an Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist.

Logan Davis

Logan joined the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Prevention and Recovery in January of 2019. Prior to joining the Center Logan worked at Delta Gamma Executive Offices overseeing the organizations prevention education. Logan obtained his Bachelor of Arts from Murray State University and his Master of Arts in Higher Education from Louisiana State University.

Anthony Gonzalez

Anthony came on board with the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Prevention and Recovery in May of 2018 as a MSW student and moved into the HEC Program Coordinator role in September of 2019. His previous experience includes work with the OSU TBI Network and volunteering at local organizations like Gladden Food Pantry & SafePoint. He is passionate about Harm Reduction proactive and evidence-based strategies utilized to reduce the negative personal and public health impacts associated with alcohol and other substance use at both the individual and community levels. Anthony obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Kent State University, his Master of Social Work from the Ohio State University and a Master of Public Health from the Ohio State University.

Elizabeth Branham

Elizabeth joins the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Prevention and Recovery as a Traffic Safety Specialist. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Boise State University and her Master of Public Health from Boise State University where she served as a Health Educator in the Wellness Office managing substance misuse prevention programs and peer education. She is a Certified Health Education Specialist and is passionate about advocating for student-centered approaches to prevention.

Ahmed Hosni

Ahmed Hosni is an Assistant Director at the Student Life Student Wellness Center at The Ohio State University and Director of Recovery at the Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Prevention and Recovery. Ahmed received a B.S. in Community, Family, and Addiction Sciences from Texas Tech University and received his MSW from The Ohio State University. Ahmed is grateful for the opportunity to serve as a board member of the Association of Recovery Schools and as a co-chairman of the board on behalf of the Association of Recovery in Higher Education.

Re’Nesha Weston

Re’Nesha Weston provides leadership, direction and support to the Student Life Student Wellness Center. She has over ten years of experience in the health and well-being field through her work at universities in Georgia, Indiana and Texas, and mental health organizations. She has earned a BA in Psychology with minors in Human Sexuality, Sociology, and Human Development and Family Studies and an MPH with a concentration in Behavioral, Social and Community Health from Indiana University-Bloomington. She is currently pursuing an EdD with a focus on Organizational Leadership. She is a Master Certified Health Education Specialist, a Certified Nutrition Consultant and a Certified Gatekeeper Instructor (through QPR). Re’Nesha is passionate about health promotion, advocacy, working with and creating networks that focus on the health, well-being and safety of the communities being served. Through her work, she looks for creative and innovative strategies rooted in evidence and theory-based practices to meet people and communities where they are to address their health, well-being, and safety needs.

Dr. Kelsey Schmuhl, PharmD, BCACP

Dr. Kelsey Schmuhl, PharmD, BCACP, is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, where she also earned her degrees. She completed postgraduate training focused on community and ambulatory care pharmacy, medication access, pharmacy education, and substance use disorders (SUD). Dr. Schmuhl serves as a clinical pharmacist in the Adolescent Medicine clinic at Nationwide Children’s Hospital with the Substance Use Treatment and Recovery (STAR) program. She also provides pharmacy services in the Primary Care Addiction Medicine clinic at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. Her research interests include medication use and education for SUD, harm reduction strategies, and innovative pharmacy practice. Dr. Schmuhl is also dedicated to mentoring students and pharmacy residents.

Dr. Michael Broman

Michael Broman is an Assistant Professor in the College of Social Work at The Ohio State University. His research is grounded in his post-MSW practice experience in substance use prevention and treatment, and focuses on systemic barriers and facilitators to substance use treatment/recovery. His dissertation research 1) explored the experiences of college students in recovery without access to a collegiate recovery program and 2) examined correlates of high-intensity drinking among college students. This work was used to help secure grant funding for a collegiate recovery program at Wayne State University. Dr. Broman is currently developing a needs assessment for that program. He is also collaborating at Ohio State to understand the needs of students in recovery here and elsewhere.
